Recently I purchased it from a friend, who offered it with a great price and since the game was on my list, I went for it. Once I turned on my PS3, I wouldn’t turn it off. Watch Dogs became interesting instantly, has an 80′s action revenge movie type story with a futuristic twist. It’s a very basic story, but kept me interested to find out more and more, currently i’m playing Act II.
Watch Dogs is an open world game, what’s main draw is it’s hacking twist. Aiden has a smartphone, what can hack bank accounts, cut power for the city, jam traffic, communications, etc. You have Campaign missions and lots of side content to tackle. Fixer contracts & Gang Hideouts are by far the more interesting ones. Fixer involves driving cars and in Hideout you can practice Aiden’s stealth and takedown skills. Digital Trips give the game a Saint’s Row feel to it, where you are giant mechanical spider destroying police, choppers, satellite dishes. Other Trips I haven’t got to yet.
Purely from First Impressions, I really like Watch Dogs for what it is, yeah, I fell for the E3 & marketing hype, but I still like the game for what it is. If you have played Splinter Cell: Blacklist, than combat & stealth is meant for you. There’s Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry mixed in it too, of course control towers or the upgrade system. The more I played Watch Dogs, more attached I got towards it. It has actually more similarity to Splinter Cell because of the fast cover to cover system, distraction gadgets you need to craft, one button takedown, plenty of weapons etc.
Graphically it was hyped the most, it’s not the greatest graphics, but even on PS3, it still looks good, especially when it’s raining or the sun is shining.
I will write a more proper and full article once i have beaten the game and story mode. So far it’s a lot of fun to play.
